Reading
Please encourage your children to read as often as possible. Sign their reading records so we know they have read.
For children on the Accelerated Reader programme, you will have their quiz scores emailed to you.
Please do not complete book quizzes at home, these need to be completed in school.
Spelling
The children will come home with spellings every Friday. These spellings are based on Sounds Write unit we have been working on. They will be tested the following Friday. Please encourage your children to practise them.
Top tips:
Practise them out of order.
Put them into sentences to help them have a deeper understanding of the meaning.
Use the strategy - Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check
Pop them on flash cards around the house for them to read.
Maths
The children will use 'Complete Maths Tutor' for their maths homework. Each half term, in school, they will complete a diagnostic test which will set their correct level of work.
They should then follow the course given. Each course has videos and examples to help them.
They will find their login in their reading record book.
